Once upon a time there was a King named Akrisios. He was a ruler of a Greek city, all rich and powerful but also superstitious.
Every morning he was advicing his fortune tellers for his wellbeing. Until one day, the oracle gave him the worst profecy ever. Akrisios was meant to be killed by his own grandson.
For this to happen his only daughter Danae should first give birth, to a boy moreover. When Akrisios heard about it and in comparison to other (and historical even) rulers, did not choose to kill her which would solve his problem once and for all but imprisoned her until he would figure out what to do.
Danae was locked in an underground cell with two guards outside the wooden door 24/7. The King thought that he was safe and he might, if Zeus hadn’t noticed Danae and of course liked her. Without further delay, the god elaborated a plan on how to approach her. He transformed himself in golden rain and pured his temporary liquid-state body into her sell. The rest are history, mythology rather.
Now let’s think of a more resonable explanation about all this. Zeus was a well known, let’s call him lover, who charmed literaly any woman he set his eye on. In order to surpass the obstacle of the guards without creating much fuzz, he did use the golden rain a.k.a. gave them alot of cold. So much actually that the badly paid soldiers later described it as if the sky was raining gold.
